Sailboat's represent freedom and casting oneself off from the ho hum of everyday life. We, meaning all employee's of Moe Boat Works, succeed because our customers succeed. At Moe Boat Works we are part of a much larger community to which we are compelled to act responsibly. We act responsibly when we help protect our environment, provide economic opportunity fairly, work safely, and consider the person in all of our business affairs. Our central focus is the production of building sailboats of classic designs to exacting standards. David Moe owner and 3rd generation boat builder with staff help to launch dreams.

Skookum 28
Who would enjoy being a part owner and user of a classic 28 foot sailboat. Experience the pride of craftsmanship and joy of sailing at a fraction of the cost. I have a Skookum 28 sailboat which is in the final stage of completion. The hull is fiberglass which was built in Port Townsend in the late 70s. The cabin and deck is made of wood with fiberglass exterior. Inside the boat it has the look and feel of an expensive custom sailboat. This gives the sailor the warm comfort of a wooden boat with only a fraction of the maintenance cost and time to upkeep.
Are you one of the smart friendly sailors I am looking for?

“How to Launch a Dream” or “Get that Boat Out of My House”
I moved to Port Townsend in fall of 2004 to take a job at a local paper mill in the computer department. In my spare time I would ride or walk along the waterfront but always ended up strolling through the boat yards run by the Port of Port Townsend. The memories of owning a boat began to infect me with the desire to have a big boat again. Big boat to me is 28 to 30 feet. I could not keep away from seeing people work on boats and talking to them. Each week I would buy a local paper and read it from front to back. Sometimes, I would look through the ads of boats for sale.
One day I saw an ad that said “boat auction” .....
