Moe Boat Works
David Moe
Moe Boat Works was built on the assumption that there is an intrinsic value, plus personal and financial reward in producing sailboats that offer customers more value than they expect to receive. Sailboat's represent freedom and casting oneself off from the ho hum of everyday life. We, meaning all employee's of Moe Boat Works, succeed because our customers succeed. At Moe Boat Works we are part of a much larger community to which we are compelled to act responsibly. We act responsibly when we help protect our environment, provide economic opportunity fairly, work safely, and consider the person in all of our business affairs. Our central focus is the production of building sailboats of classic designs to exacting standards. David Moe owner and 3rd generation boat builder with staff help to launch dreams.

Schooner Sindbad Project
We have started a fund raising campaign to raise money to restore the Schooner Sindbad. Phase one is to raise $2,000 to haul the Sindbad from her home on Lake Union where she has been moored the last 42 years.and truck her to Port Townsend.. We have scheduled a benefit event at the NW Maritime Center in Port Townsend for Friday April 22nd. The event will include a dinner, short program about the Schooner Sindbad and music. Tickets are $25.00 and ticket holders will also be included in a raffle for sailboat ride on a classic sailboat. I am contacting skippers who will donate a ride on their yacht as prizes for the raffle.
We would like to hear from “old salts” that knew Bill Hedley or crewed on the Schooner Sindbad to contact us. We would like to hear their stories.
Skipper's who would like to arrive by sea contact the Port of Port Townsend at (360)385-0656 for slip assignments.

The Sindbad project:
Sindbad is more than a 1926 staysail schooner; she is a northwest legend. Bill Hedley, her first owner, made Sindbad a part of his larger than life personality. Sindbad became a noble gathering place for conversations, or listening to Hedley read classic literature. Everyone within hailing distance on the shores of Puget Sound, the San Juan and Gulf islands were invited aboard with a loud and welcoming shout.....the rest of the story is on the Sindbad web site
